Soldura Motorsport is proud to be developing a proposal for a permanent RC motorsport and engineering facility in Yate, South Gloucestershire.
The project — named Road To Nowhere RC Club — aims to transform an unused area of land into a safe, inclusive and environmentally responsible space focused on electric RC motorsport, engineering, and technical learning.
Many young people are not naturally drawn to traditional sports, yet still need positive outlets, technical engagement and community involvement.
RC motorsport provides a unique introduction into:
The project is especially focused on creating an inclusive environment for:

The entire facility is planned around quiet, electric-only RC vehicles with renewable energy generation through solar power and battery storage.
The project also aims to support:
The project is currently in its early development and funding stage.
We are actively building support, developing awareness, and speaking with organisations, local businesses and community partners
The James Dyson Foundation has already supported the project as an early contributor, helping us begin development and outreach.
Modern technology has brought many benefits, but more and more young people now spend the majority of their free time indoors, behind screens, phones and computers. While gaming and digital entertainment can be enjoyable, there are fewer opportunities today for hands-on hobbies that encourage practical skills, real-world interaction and creative thinking.
RC motorsport offers something different.
It combines technology with physical, hands-on learning — giving young people the chance to build, repair, tune and drive real machines in a social outdoor environment. It encourages patience, concentration, teamwork and problem solving in a way that feels exciting.
Proven results that speak for themselve

RC motorsport has long been recognised as one of the most accessible entry points into engineering and professional motorsport. For many drivers and engineers, it teaches racecraft, mechanical understanding, concentration and problem solving from a very young age.
7 Times World Champion Lewis Hamilton with Esteban Ocon racing their RC cars in the pits. Both raced RC cars as children

Current British Touring car champion Jake Hill -
He still races RC cars in his spare time and is and a hardcore enthusiast.

F1 Driver Oscar Piastri began his motorsport career in competitive radio-controlled car racing around the age of six, eventually becoming a national champion in Australia at age nine. He frequently competed against adults, developing skills in concentration and precision that prepared him for karting and his later Formula 1 career with McLaren
