My name is Harry Erskine, and I bring over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, including a decade at the pinnacle of motorsport and vehicle prototypes. I've had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented individuals in the UK. Soldura has been a vision of mine for many years—a place to revive and teach the art of bronze brazing, a skill that hasn’t been officially taught for decades.
At Soldura, we offer courses designed for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned fabricators. Our classes cover a range of skills from basic techniques to advanced, masterclass-level instruction. Whether you’re a hobbyist, a professional welder, or working in motorsport or motorcycle frame making, these courses are tailored to your needs.
Each course is conducted on a one-to-one basis at our workshop, allowing us to focus entirely on your learning experience. Our courses typically run from 9 am to 4 pm, with a lunch break from 12 pm to 1 pm (lunch is not provided, but there are nearby shops and delivery services available). We do provide tea, coffee, and snacks throughout the day.
Beginner to Masterclass:
Our courses cater to all skill levels. For those new to the art of bronze brazing, we recommend a two-day course to cover the fundamentals thoroughly. However, if you have some experience in fabrication, TIG welding, or jewelry making, a one-day course may be sufficient to familiarize you with the basics, with an optional second day to refine your skills in a masterclass setting.
Customized Learning:
About two weeks before your course starts, we’ll have a conversation to tailor the content specifically to your needs. Whether you’re looking to enhance your skills for motorsport, motorcycle frame building, or even architectural soldering, we’ll customize the course to best suit your goals.
Hands-On Experience:
All necessary materials are provided, and you’ll get to take home everything you work on, including a final piece completed at the end of your course. You’ll also receive course notes that cover the history of brazing, techniques, and helpful graphs to refer back to.
Safety is our top priority at Soldura. We provide all necessary safety equipment, including brazing goggles and gloves, which are yours to take home after the course. Due to the nature of working with acetylene and naked flames, participants are required to sign a disclaimer at the start of the day. Please wear non-flammable, hard-wearing clothing, such as jeans, and avoid loose items of hair or clothing. In colder months, we recommend dressing warmly, as our workshop can be chilly.
Important Note: If you have epilepsy or any other condition that could be affected by working with flames or bright lights, please let us know in advance. We are committed to making reasonable accommodations to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all participants.
The cost of the course is £480 per day, including VAT.
This fee covers all materials & safety equipment.

Fantastic day at Soldura Motorsport in Bristol doing some bronze brazing. HIGHLY recommend his course, very in depth. Everything from flame diagnosis and preheating temps even teaching the metallurgy behind brazing. Absolutely fantastic course.
